PRISMEN

Prismen, sports and culture facility
Copenhagen

Prismen is an indoor multi purpose stadium offering room for everything from sport over leisure to social and cultural activities.

The building is situated on the island of Amager only 10 minutes from central Copenhagen and was built as part of a urban renewal project revitalising the neighbourhood.

The building is drawn by architect Dorthe Mandrup and the entire indoor area is centered around several green areas in different layers.

Walls and roof are made by transparent glass surfaces organically shaped and attached to a large visible space frame structure. The overall impression is very light and connects the exterior world with the interior activities.

Levi Jensen has been responsible for the steel construction and the space frame structures.
